Knysna
Today Sunday 1/10/17 we are in Knysna (nizna) again for the day and night.
the most interesting part was about the narrow and dangerous entrance to the harbour which has led to shipwrecks which still happen today.
It is hard to believe the colour of the water, the indian ocean. it is far more green than it appears in these photos.
We had breakfast with the Southern Equatorial Ferrari club members whose Ferarris were parked in the car park and are staying at the hotel for a conference??? And most of them, (the Ferarris) are red. They go faster.
After breakfast, our guide, Christel, organizes a 5 km walk around the town. Easy and pleasant and takes us to some of the nicer parts of town on the water. As with Waterfront properties everywhere, the houses are grand and expensive.
Part of the tour was to have been a visit to Featherbed Eco something or other but due to recent bushfires completely destroying their facility, we are doing a paddle boat cruise with lunch instead. The paddle boat was cute and the lunch was fine. We also had commentary on the 'area and its ecosystem'.
