Game drives day 2.

5/10 Thursday
Today is the last day of game drives.

nice touch above.
I am however tired of game drives and am giving the early one today a miss.  Once you have the big 5, you really don't need to keep going other than to maybe improve your shot.
I sleep in while Paul does the game drive. Apparently they do get some good shots but I got to sleep in. Everyone's a winner.

Instead of wild animals, I take some photos of the cabin/lodge. And a few of the outdoor shower which is my favorite thing, not.  Particularly not on the first night when it was very dark and I felt the soft squishy thing under my foot. Probably a lizard or poisonous snake.   There are also Impala roaming around the cabins and the odd elephant and many monkeys. It is quite a long distance from the main lodge to our lodge, about 120 metres.  We are the closest with the furthest being another 500 metres.

our bed at night. while on our night game drives, the mosquito curtains are lowered and then put back up in the morning. nice.
A note on mosquitoes and tse tse flies of which we were warned. we have not been bitten  and in fact I don't think  have seen any.  we have been given 2 different insect repellents so maybe they are working but I dont think there are many around at this time of year.

Breakfast is served when they return and then lunch.  Sorry to focus so much on food but it was important to give us strength of course but also to keep track of time.
And the fresh salads and vegetables have been great. My favourite of the meats has to be kudu, closely followed by ostrich.  Boerewors sausages were also very good.

Unfortunately at lunch time, there was an incident with Pauls reading glasses. Lost and could not be found anywhere.  In the end we decided "the monkey got my glasses"........
The suspects:

That evening I decide I will do the last game drive of the tour.  It is the least successful of the 5 we have done.  we search for a good shot of a leopard as the ones we have are hard to see and from a distance even with the good cameras (zoom envy).  I barely take any photos. Apart from the sunset drinks.

On our return we have the Boma dinner/barbecue outdoor at the lodge. There is great food, sausages,  and entertainment.

Still no sign of the glasses. We search the resort as do the staff but cannot be found. No reading tonight for Paul.
