Day 3 I think: Cape Town at last

What a trip so far!

Yesterday was Saturday 23/9 and I did catch the flight from Johannesburg airport to cape town successfully this time. I was only there 3 hours earlier than necessary and did not leave the gate etc etc.( no pressure from Paul at all as you can imagine)

All pretty much without incident until I arrived in the hotel. I found that my bag which had been checked through, had been broken into. The little padlock I had locked it with had been broken off and the contents of my bag rifled through.  I felt violated and shocked. The nightmare was continuing. Why me? Etc etc

In the end it seems I have only lost perfume and jewelry though not quite sure what exactly as I packed it ages ago and not sure what I had in there. Still feel violated. Paul suggests that I had quite a lot of stuff stolen. Hmmmmm

After a tearful reunion with Paul (him),  I was able to finally relax, swim in the heated indoor pool with views over Cape Town and harbour and have a spa. All lovely.  A nice hotel, the Westin. (Heated floor tiles in the bathroom,  now that is a good hotel.)
My first night and it was the night the conference delegates were having dinner with local principals. Paul and I as it turned out were having dinner at a school which had organized a brilliant meal with magnificent food, drinks, and formal table service by their hospitality students. The alcohol was a pleasant surprise.
We were driven to the school in a school bus but not as you would imagine a school bus.think very expensive private school with a special bus. On the way we went past the beach.
It was just on sunset and these photos do not do it justice.

After my eventful couple of days, I fell asleep on the way home.  Paul will say I fell asleep on the bus to the dinner and even that I slept during the dinner but I am pretty sure it was just on the way home.
